In a classic Sterling Mom misadventure, my husband texted me this photo today:
That’s right! My kiddo broke my TV today. And, I used my motherhood misadventure to remind all my childless friends that birth control is always an option.
How does this happen, you ask? I will tell you a classic story of being a parent of three sons.
My oldest, the Dude, age 11, and youngest, the Bean, age 3, were playing Mario Kart on Wii U. The Dude wanted to keep playing. The Bean did not. The Dude kept forcing the Bean to hold the Wii U remote – and he really didn’t want to and continued to express his displeasure in a typical 3 year old tantrum.
So, he did what most tantrum-y three year old boys would do and threw the hated remote at the TV. Welcome, crack and black screen. Sayonara, 60 incher.
I always talk about how well-behaved my kids are. Today is not that day. Today, I gotta be real and say that we had a bad day. After the $4,000 baby wipes plumbing bill, this may be our next most expensive kid mistake. What kiddo mistake has cost you the most? Comment below! Make me feel better?
Now, onto the difficult decision of what we do with the TV. I’m leaning towards canceling cable at this point – that would be an adventure (or misadventure!) of its own! I’ll report back if we decide to take that plunge.
